Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are changing people’s smiles the whole world over! A cosmetic dentistry treatment, a veneer is just a thin, tooth-shaped shell made of porcelain that our dentist bonds to the front surface of the tooth.

More about Porcelain Veneers

For tooth bonding or dental bonding we use a special tooth-colored resin which is applied to the tooth then hardened using a special light. This bonds the resin to the tooth either to restore it or to improve the appearance of the tooth.

Six Month Smiles

Porcelain Veneers

Created to be aesthetically-pleasing and flawless, porcelain veneers can correct:

  • Large gaps between the teeth
  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Stains and discolorations on the teeth
  • Teeth that are uneven, crooked, or misshapen

Custom porcelain veneers usually require two appointments at Albee Family Dental in Rochester. They often require little tooth preparation, making them an effective alternative to dental crowns in certain situations.

As you age, your teeth may wear from many causes but they’ll also become more vulnerable to stains from food and drinks. A well-constructed veneer will match your existing teeth both is shape and color, leaving you with a smile that’s both aesthetically and functionally improved.

If you are looking to achieve a radiant, beautiful new smile, call our office today to learn more about the benefits of porcelain veneers and cosmetic dentistry.

Dental Bonding

We at Albee Family Dental consider Dental bonding as an option to:

  •  Repair teeth that are decaying
  •  Repair teeth that have chipped or cracked
  •  Help to improve the look of a discolored tooth
  •  Fill in spaces between teeth
  •  Change  the size or shape of teeth
  •  Use for some fillings
  •  When part of the tooth’s root has been exposed.

The Procedure for Bonding

Bonding is a fairly simple process that doesn’t need a lot of preparation.  Unless you have a decaying tooth, you are likely to not need Anesthesia.  Our doctor will use a shade guide to select a color resin that will be used to match your teeth as closely as possible.   Then the doctor will roughen the surface of the tooth and add a conditioning liquid.  This will help the bonding resin to adhere to the tooth.  The putty like resin that is the color of your tooth, is then applied and shaped to the proper size. It is also made nice and smooth.  We then use an ultraviolet light or laser to harden the resin.  After it is hardened, we will polish it up making it look just like the other teeth.  We are able to create a whole new wonderful smile in under 1 hour per tooth bonded.
